Re-Focus, Inc. Providence, Rhode Island

Since 1972, Re-Focus, Inc., a non-profit human service agency, has enabled persons with developmental disabilities to pursue productive and healthy lives throughout Rhode Island. We began as St. Charles Residence in Providence, one of the first group homes in the state, serving 18 residents. We were established to provide parents of developmentally disabled adult children with an alternative to institutionalization. Re-Focus has expanded from a single residence to a stellar provider of multiple services for more than 300 developmentally disabled adults and their families over the years.

Our staff and management strive to engage families so that, together, we may provide for the daughter, son, sister, or brother they entrust to us a caring and challenging environment tailored to each individual's unique needs and capabilities. We work with clients to re-focus on their abilities rather than disabilities, and we challenge the community at large to re-focus its perception of persons with disabilities and recognize their value as contributing members of the Rhode Island community.
