Re-Focus, Inc. Providence, Rhode Island
Re-Focus, Inc. is a non-profit human service agency which serves adults with differing physical and developmental needs. Originally established as the St. Charles Residence in September 1972, and recognized as one of the first group homes in the state of Rhode Island, Re-Focus has grown to support over 100 individuals with developmental disabilities in fourteen (14) group homes and a variety of supportive living programs across the state.
The services Re-Focus supplies are strategically individualized and geared to the needs and desires of each person and can extend from 10 hours a week up to 24 hours a day, depending on whether the people live in a group home, their own home or with their families.
In group homes across Rhode Island that blend seamlessly into their communities, we provide a warm and cozy atmosphere where residents can live a rich and full life. Those with physical or developmental needs participate in a variety of fun and rewarding weekly activities that can include art lessons, swim classes, local trips, picnics and other activities, in addition to performing daily chores or sitting down for regular family meals. All of this is possible with the help of our highly-skilled and professionally-trained staff that provides nurturing care in a family-focused environment.
The 2009 nomination for Direct Support Professional for Chestnut Hill is Marissa Garlington.
