Dream Grant Program

The Dream Grant Program provides an opportunity for folks receiving services through Re-Focus to receive a grant up to $500. per year to help them make a dream come to life. This program has been in existence for six years. Applications for Dream Grants are sent out in October of every year to all the programs. The folks, with assistance, fill out the Dream Grant applications and return them to Chris Kavanagh in November. The Dream Makers Theme Team reviews all the applications to determine which dreams can be granted in light of the money that has been raised for that year. The Dream Grants are awarded at the Re-Focus annual Holiday Gala Celebration at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet.

Approximately 80-90 folks supported by Re-Focus benefit each year from the fundraising activities of the Dream Makers. The fundraising activities have included a Spring Dinner Dance, Car Wash, Direct-Mail Campaign, Raffles, Dinner Train Ride and Yard Sale. Our goal for the future is to continue to raise increasingly more money for the Dream Grant Program so that we may raise the Dream Grant Award from $500 to $1,000.

Starry Night Auction

This year's Starry Night Silent Auction & Lite Fare event held on March 6, 2007 to benefit the Dream Grants Program, raised over $25,000.
