2016 Winner ReFocus Community Service Award

Jimmy Mac

Jimmy Mac has a passion to help people, not just the poor, homeless and hungry. Jimmy also sees the need of helping the hard working, underpaid people, who struggle to make ends meet. Jimmy Mac knows how to help people by learning how to rescue food and goods, re-cycle, up-cycle, re-claim and share the results with those in need.

ReFocus is just one of many agencies that Jimmy works with (thanks to Sister Chris and Jimmy’s mutual friend, Joan Jamrog) to redistribute goods that are still very useable, as well as products, clothing and countless items that we need and use every day.
Jimmy MacDougall started ‘We Share Hope’ more than seven years ago. Seeing the needs of people all over Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts, as well as seeing the waste of food and supplies that are still perfectly fine, Jimmy and his Board at ‘We Share Hope’ got to work to bring the two together.
ReFocus, too, has been able to share from our surplus to our staff, several food pantries, St, Vincent de Paul Societies, Camp Street Ministries, schools, farmers and many other groups. Jimmy Mac and his ‘We Share Hope’ team bring much more than food and useful goods when they come to ReFocus. They bring hope, good will, caring, love and lots of smiles! This work is truly God’s work! Jimmy and his team are true Food Rescue Missionaries – helping thousands of people each week of the year!

Jimmy Mac ~ a big heartfelt thank you from all of us at ReFocus! We love
